We've listened to our customer feedback and introduced a range of improvements to the video-request page. Requests for MDVR video footage now require the camera to be switched on at the time of the request, allowing us to access in real-time, an accurate and up-to-date list of available footage, and ensuring we can then deliver that footage to you far more quickly. We've applied various fixes and improvements to ensure a consistent approach to the time/date stamps.
When you request footage from a MDVR (e.g. 5 or 8 channel) we now check in real-time for the latest footage.
We've made updates to the Download page, focusing on the request-dates for the footage and including up to 30 days of history. Video's requested on other pages, are immediately displayed in the download page, with updated and more accurate status.
We've rewritten the underlying back-end code that processes the video requests and downloads. We've added new functionality to improve download times and reliability, for example, by introducing automatic retries for those times when a camera goes in and out of signal, or goes offline (ignition off)
When requesting videos, the system will communicate directly with the camera for improved calendar accuracy.
Download reliability is now 30% better thanks to advances in our video request processing logic
Download speeds are now much improved thanks to optimisations in our video collection and processing logic. In early testing on large video files, we're seeing a near 10x improvement in download times.
Alongside the camera fixes, we've actioned and closed 20 customer support tickets, related to cameras, dashcams, alerts and TMS pages.
