June: Driver Behaviour
The AddSecure UK development team publish feature updates and bug fixes on a monthly basis. In June, we will be launching an improved Driver Behaviour and Safety score solution.
Driver Behaviour: Overview
Driver behaviour scoring has been a central part of our telematics solution for several years. We've worked exclusively with some of the largest fleets in the UK and abroad to deliver Driver scoring solutions that help identify and reward good drivers, and identify and support other drivers with the information to improve their driving styles.
29/06 June Updates
We've been listening to our customers and inspired by their suggestions. We recognise that the requirements for driver behaviour and driver safety are changing and maturing. Customers tell us they want more controls, greater content, flexibility in weighting and multiple reporting methods.
In response, we're making the following changes:
Consistency across the site: We've previously offered different driving score solutions in reporting, vs dashboards, to support the bespoke needs of some clients. This caused confusion for some customers, so we're merging everything into one common set of code. Dashboard, reports, driver pages or app: the same calculations apply.
Extendability: Several of our customers want to include additional metrics in the scoring, for example, Cruise Duration, Acceleration over threshold, camera events, etc. As part of this release we're making the platform scalable to support existing and any new metrics requested by customers.
Intuitive UI: In making our scores highly configurable in previous releases, it did introduce complexity. Our UI gurus have been working on a brand new interface, that makes it easier to both configure, control and understand individual driving scores. The new UI removes uncertainty around the calculations and introduces useful tool-tips and insights to help you fine tune your driver scores.
Weighted Scores: We understand that some driver scoring metrics (e.g. harsh acceleration harsh breaking) might be more important to the overall score, than cruise score etc, and that customers want to be able to fine-tune their driver scoring calculation with this in mind. The new interface now allows you to toggle individual scoring metrics on and off, and for each metric, to be able to give it a high/medium/low weighting.
Alongside these changes, Driver Behaviour retains all it's original features and functions:
Highly configurable driver-score parameters for the entire fleet, or individual vehicle groups (e.g by location, or vehicle type)
Driver Score dashboard widgets and league tables
A range of reporting, including individual score-cards by driver, and management reports by depot or across the fleet
Driver Mobile app access to view their current journey and historical driver scores.
Summary
The new functionality for Driver Behaviour scoring will be introduced in our June release. This includes the new centralised and highly configurable code, the updated and individual reports, and additional metrics.
The new UI interface is currently being piloted with some our existing customers, and will be released in mid July.
If you would like to learn more about the scoring mechanism or join the pilot, please reach out to your AddSecure sales or service delivery manager, and they'll be happy to demonstrate the new functionality.
Additional Enhancements & Bug Fixes
Alongside the driver behaviour scores, this release includes some 50+ platform enhancements and bug fixes including:
Further enhancements to our existing temperature solution, including improved UI, enhanced time filters on temperature data exports, and zones.
Further enhancements to our newly announced Reefer solution, based on feedback from our internal teams and early-adopters.
Enhancements to our internal tools, to further automate and simplify hardware installations for our market leading Transcan and Digi-DL solutions.
We have included a number of bug fixes in this release. Our support teams will be in touch with customers to notify them of relevant bug fixes.
Reminder: Reefer Solution
We launched our new Reefer Solution in May. We're now working on the 2nd phase, providing two-way remote control of Thermoking reefer units.
If you would like to know more about this session, please reach out to your account manager, or visit our website to view the recent webinar.
Reminder: Fleet Utilisation
We've received positive feedback on our new fleet utilisation reports, based on Journeys. Further details here. In the new version, we offer fleet utilisation based on actual journey time. I.e. the amount of time that each trailer is travelling.
